The Holiday Hiatus

One of the nice things about working at Sandia National Laboratories is the fact that the entire company shuts down for the week between Christmas and New Year's, and we employees get holiday pay for that time.  (It's better than a vacation because work doesn't pile up in the interim!)  This year, I caught a bad cold and was sick for most of the week, which was a drag, especially since Darren was home from BYU for the holidays and we really didn't get to do much while he was here.  (The attached photo was taken right before Darren left on Saturday to go back to Provo.)  I also didn't get much accomplished around the house -- perhaps the most-fulfilling part of the week was holding my grandson Mason for three-plus hours on Saturday while he took a much-needed nap and I watched football on TV.  (Mason got sick at the same time I did, and his mother reported he didn't sleep much for several nights.)  Christmas with the family was nice, and we had family pictures taken on Wednesday evening at our house.
